The Korean Government welcomes all visitors to Korea during the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan™. All visitors to Korea are required to go through Customs, Immigration and Quarantine clearance procedures.

During the flight to Korea, flight attendants will distribute various forms of declaration and it will facilitate quicker clearance upon your arrival if you have the completed forms in hand
Quarantine questionnaires, Animal Quarantine questionnaires: If you are arriving from areas affected by cholera, yellow fever and insect pests, you need to fill out quarantine questionnaires. If you have visited animal farms in countries affected by foot and mouth disease or if you are carrying animal products, you need to fill out animal quarantine questionnaires. Otherwise, it is not necessary to complete the forms
Immigration Application Form: All passengers (No exemption in case of children) are requested to complete the form (called E/D card) with accurate information such as personal record, duration of stay, intended address, and so on, before he or she applies immigration inspection.
Customs Clearance Forms: If you have nothing to declare, you can proceed with an oral declaration. If you have something to declare, you are required to fill out a Customs declaration form. However, family members travelling together can make their declarations on one declaration form.

Quarantine Service
Passengers on flights arriving from contaminated areas are required to fill out quarantine questionnaires and submit them to the Quarantine Inspection Counter.
If you have any health problems during the flight, it is better for you to contact Quarantine officials. If you uffer from diarrhea, a stomachache and vomiting within two weeks after arrival, it is required that you report it to the nearest public health center or uarantine office.

When you are arriving with animals and animal products and plants, you are required to declare it to the National Veterinary Research and Quarantine Service or National Plant Quarantine Service in order to have the items quarantined. In this case, you need to submit Animal or Plant Quarantine Certificates issued by the government of the exporting country. If you visited animal farms in countries affected by foot and mouth disease or if you are carrying any agricultural products, you need to report it to quarantine officials. You may declare it to Customs and Customs will then guide you to the Quarantine service.

Animals, plants and food brought into Korea by unaccompanied baggage also must go through quarantine procedures. When there are problems with the quarantine, the items may be denied entry or discarded.

To complete the animal quarantine procedures, the original copy of the Quarantine certificate issued by the government of exporting country is required.
Immigration Service
All passengers visiting Korea are required to fill out an E/D card (Immigration Card) which will be distributed to passengers while on board the flight coming into Korea. They need to submit a passport, a visa (There are exceptions to a foreigner whose country has a visa exemption agreement with the Republic of Korea) and E/D card to immigration officials.

An Immigration officer will inspect the application materials (including a travel document, a visa, E/D card) before admitting the application. All items in Immigration Application Form (E/D card) must be completed and it will facilitate your entry inspection.

To the official participants of the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan™, specifically to the players, support staffs, referees and journalists, multiple visas will be issued.
In addition, official participants who have obtained an AD(Accreditation Card) issued by the Organizing Committee for the 2002 FIFA World Cup™ of Korea or Japan can visit Korea and Japan without additional visa requirements.
Immigration Clearance Benefit for a group tourist (minimum 10 persons required): To those passengers Korean Immigration implement better speed clearance service. The applicants are requested to submit 2 copies of the passenger's list to the local Airline agency 24 hours in advance landing Korea.

Note: Korean Immigration is providing 'Convenient Departure Inspection Program' at Immigration Branch Offices in two City Air Terminals located in COEX and Gimpo Airport. Customs Service
If you have nothing to declare to Customs, you donOt have to fill out the customs declaration forms. You can proceed to the "Nothing to Declare" line(Green Line). If you have something to declare, you need to complete customs declaration forms which will be distributed to you during your flight. You can go to the "Goods to Declare" line (Red Line) to declare the goods. If you do not declare the goods properly, additional taxes and duties may be imposed in addition to regular duties and taxes.

If you have unaccompanied baggage, it is recommended that you complete two copies of the customs declaration forms. Customs will return one copy to you with some certifications and it can be useful in facilitating the customs clearance procedures of unaccompanied baggage.

What is Unaccompanied Baggage?
It refers to any personal belongings and professional equipment which are not carried by the travelers themselves. Unaccompanied Baggage can be brought into Korea via other airlines, shipping lines and through parcel post.

Customs Clearance Procedures
Dutiable articles or prohibited & restricted items will be put under the custody of Customs. In this case, a customs inspector will issue a certificate of customs custody.
If the goods kept by Customs are dutiable articles, you can claim them right away at the immediate clearance section which is located in the CIQ area simply by paying the duties and taxes. For restricted
goods and specific types of goods which require customs analysis and valuation, customs clearance procedures may be delayed during the certification period. You may need to obtain certificates from other government agencies.
Some goods can not be cleared due to various reasons and you may decide not to clear the goods. In this case, you can just ship it back to the country of our designation.
