Attention |
When entering Korea, you have to fill
out the Customs Declaration form and submit it to a Customs officer
if you have any of the items listed under the heading "Goods
Subject to Declaration"
If you have nothing to declare, you can orally report to a Customs
officer without filing the Customs Declaration form.
If you fail to submit the Customs Declaration form while you have
goods subject to declaration, you will be subject to 30% additional
tax. |

Duty Free Allowance |
Goods for personal use that are purchased
or acquired abroad and whose total value does not exceed US$ 400 are
exempted from duties. However, this exemption does not include commercial
goods, company goods, alcohol, tobacco and perfume.

Alcohol, tobacco, and perfume are
subject to separate duty-free allowance: 1 bottle of alcohol(less
than US$400 value and 1l), 200 pieces of tobacco, and 2 ounces
of perfume. However, travelers younger than 19 in age are not
applicable for alcohol and tobacco exemption. |

The following goods are subject to
quantity and price restriction even when they are applicable
for US$400 exemption.
- For agricultural/forestry/fishery products,
1Kg of pine nuts, 10kg of beef, 5kg per item for other goods
are allowed, and the purchase price in total has to be within
100,000 Korean won.
- For oriental medicine herbs,
300g of ginseng, 150g of deer antler, and 3Kg per item for other
goods are allowed, the purchase price in total has to be within
100,000 Korean won. |
Different duty free allowances stipulated by relevant domestic regulations
are applied for crew. |

Purchase price travelers declare will be generally accepted
as given.
Simplified tax rate for dutiable goods will be 20% in average
except for luxury goods which are subject to high tax rate (
i.e. jewely,precious gems,furs,watches,cameras,golf clubs,etc.) |
