| Lost, damaged, or stolen tickets | Complaints about a seat position | Refund or Change of Tickets | Double issue of tickets |
Lost, damaged,
or stolen tickets |
Tickets that are lost, damaged or stolen are not reissued. |
|
- Clause 8 of the Agreement on Ticket Sales: "¡¦ lost, damaged, or stolen tickets are not to be replaced by any other ¡¦" |
If such tickets are reissued: |
|
- There can be more than one ticket for a same seat, and the authority
has no way to decide whose ticket has a priority right.
- Once issued, the ticket holder, not the KOWOC, has the responsibility of taking care of the tickets.
- The ticket is much like cash or a check. No cash or check is reissued after it is lost or stolen. |
Complaints
about a seat position |
Classification of seats |
|
- The seats of a World Cup stadium are divided into several classes,
and ticket prices, according to their location and field visibility.
- While the standard on visibility can differ from one to another, the current
classification is based on the experiences and knowledge of FIFA officials and
soccer experts.
¡Ø The FIFA Standards on classification of seats
¨ç CAT 1: Seats along sidelines
¨è CAT 2: Seats at four corners
¨é CAT 3: Seats behind goals |
Distribution of, or numbering, seats within the same class |
|
- A computer issues seat numbers within the same class. It is not
possible for anyone to choose his or her seats before buying tickets.
- Some may not be satisfied with the choice that the computer makes based on their
own personal standards, but that cannot substantiate grounds for a complaint.
- One should not attempt to change seats in the stands because doing so could result
in serious confusion with regard to other spectators anxiously waiting for the match
to begin.
¡Ø As the location of seats are arranged like a complex puzzle,
it is virtually impossible for one to change his or her seat.
It can mean that numerous others have to move their seats, which they really
would not want to do. |
If group tickets bought at the same time happen
to be extremely unreasonably arranged, being, for example, dispersed between different
Blocks, one can apply to the Ticket Management Team (Ticket Policy Office) of
KOWOC to change them. |

Refund or
Change of Tickets |
No ticket will be refunded or changed once they are issued. |
|
- Clause 8 of the Agreement on Ticket Sales: "¡¦ a ticket holder cannot receive a refund or change his or her ticket for any reason."
- The KOWOC provided a time frame for refunding or changing tickets that lasted until March 31 of 2002, following a month of revision of the tickets sold in the first sales period. |
Why refunds are no longer possible? |
|
- A ticket holder purchased the ticket after he or she accepted the
provisions of the Agreement on Ticket Sales, and therefore, is not expected to demand
something against them.
- The KOWOC may cancel or void tickets repurchased or transferred from the original
purchaser. (Clause 7 of the Agreement on Ticket Sales: "The tickets that are not
obtained through an official KOWOC channel can be declared void.)
- The act of refunding tickets before a match can mean that it deprives others
of an opportunity to obtain tickets and the KOWOC to sell them. |
A ticket transfer occurring under good causes after a purchase
may be acceptable based on the circumstances. (In that case, there will be no
additional process of changing names required.) |
No materials that can be used for commercial purposes are
allowed into the stadium. (Clause 11 of the Agreement on Ticket Sales) |
In the case of a ticket purchaser who fails to get
tickets due to a change of his or her address or other contact point,
he or she should be responsible for the failure. (Clause 8 of the Agreement
on Ticket Sales) |
|
- If you lose your ticket voucher or forget the relevant exchange
office, contact Interpark (02-3484-3603/3492), which is KOWOC's sales agency,
or the Ticket Information Center (1588-0000). Or, you may visit the
website (ticket.2002worldcupkorea
.org) to find out details in the "Query and Revision" menu. |
If you have failed to reach an amicable agreement with the KOWOC about the use of tickets and want to take legal action, you may do so by contacting the Seoul District Court. (Clause 14 of the Agreement on Ticket Sales) |
Report the fact to the Ticket Management Team to get a new seat.
